Want to know more about Good Search? What if The Children's Place earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support the daycare and preschool? Well, now it can! GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up! The GoodSearch.com sister site, GoodShop.com, is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause. You must start at GoodShop.com and select Huffman United Methodist Church and Children's Place before you place an order. To give you a sense of how the money can add up, the ASPCA has already earned more than $23,000!
Here's how to do it:
1. Go to www.goodsearch.com. 2. Look for the gray "WHO DO YOU GOODSEARCH FOR?" box. In the text box below the gray box, Huffman United Methodist Church and Children's Place as the charity you want to support. 3. Click "Verify." 4. Click on the appropriate charity (if more than one comes up). 5. Search!
Now every time you go to GoodSearch to search, our group should be selected. If not, go through the above process again. The process is slightly different for the shopping, but there are directions on the website.
And, be sure to spread the word!
Please tell 10 friends about GoodShop and GoodSearch today. They've been featured in the NY Times, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, Oprah Magazine and more.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will be placed in The Children's Place account for special projects within the center. As always, thanks for supporting this important ministry of our church and in our community!
Sincerely, Sarah O'Kelley Chair, The Children's Place at HUMC |
